On Sunday I am doing a 5 kilometre run for cancer research with a few friends. I thought it was a fun run, turns out everybody has been training except for me. I can put it down it my ankle problems but really I couldn’t be bothered training. And even when I realised that I would be the slow one at the back I still didn’t train.
I am relying on my natural fitness to get me around. I t doesn’t look good at this stage. I was going to run on Friday to train but then thought better of it. Best to rest a few days before a big race so I am spending Friday night at the pub watching the football. Rest and relaxation so I am all ready for Sunday’s big race.
Also like any self respecting kiwi in London I have joined a Touch rugby team. This is the first season I have played and I am feisty. Those of you that know me may not be surprised. I used to play hockey with teenage girls I am not afraid a sports field argument. And I had one on Monday it was wicked, got the good old adrenalin going
The funniest thing is that when boys touch you they sometimes hit your boob. And as a girl you don’t care because it’s your boob no big deal but boys are always so apologetic. They are like ‘I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m sorry.' And now I ham it up I say 'ow! That really hurt,’ (Even when it didn’t even tickle) especially if we are losing (which we always are) Touch rugby is a psychological game really, just like chess.
