Our house in the middle of our street

So here are some pictures of our new flat … hopefully if the lawyers and everyone gets there act together we will be living there in a month. Best not to mention the massive mortgage or the massive financial risk we are taking. Lets just pretend it isn’t happening and concentrate on choosing a new sofa instead.

The bedroom. With two windows. This is a big deal in london. Two windows with overlook a tennis court, ping pong.

Our living room with one tiny window and it looks out onto the relaxing vista of a road. Ahh the serenity.

The Living Room, take two.

The kitchen with granite worksurfaces, these are expensive and gross blue cupboards. You win some you loose some.

Our 70’s style bathroom, which has no shower and will be replaced by something a little more year 2000 and cheap.

Sorry it's been so long ....

Have not updated my blog in one hundred years and I am sorry. I blame Jamie because I was using his fancy new computer, (without his permission) which he has only let me use three times under strict supervision and he wasn’t at home so I couldn’t ask him, anyway I was taping away and I pressed the wrong button and then the stupid ibook froze and I LOST ALL MY WORK. And I wet my pants a little bit because I thought I had broken his laptop but I hadn’t. It now seems to be working okay. But if he asks you I did not touch his laptop without his permission. If he knew he might leave me.

Anyway my post was hilarious it was all about the weather and stuff. I will try to re-create the highlights below. Think I will do it in points because I am lazy and it is Friday afternoon.

The weather in London is crap.
It is July it should be sunny and hot.
It is not. It is raining and cold.
No one seems to be trying to remedy the situation.
No one apart from me really truly cares about the situation.
If the weather does not improve soon I am leaving. I have no idea where I will go. Maybe Barbados or Beiruit.

Another thing the house stuff is moving along nicely will hopefully move in Mid-August am trying to get a new bathroom in before that. I am not too confident about dealing with trades people. I am little bit afraid of them because they have a loose relationship with personal hygiene and also seem to make a lot of jokes I don’t understand. Anyway am getting some quotes for the new bathroom done next week with make Jamie be with me for moral support.

Also loving the smokefree pubs and clubs because when I get home my hair doesn’t smell like a TAB (or if you are in UK a Ladbrokes) and all the smokers have to go outside which means there are more seats to sit on which appeals to my genetic laziness. And also drinking beer is just better when you are sitting down, it s a nesting thing.

Will also post some pictures tonight to make up for my long abscence.

Disaster just read in the paper that the weather will not improve until August. Jesus what the hell is going on? I am wearing jeans in july. Jeans in July! What has the world come too? Stupid global warming.

The wedding weekender

On Saturday we went to my best friend from work’s wedding in the Cotswolds it was lovely and a little bit emotional. Good time was had by all as the photos will show. I wore a lovely dress that I got stains all over and had to take to the dry cleaners on Monday. He asked me what the stains were and I couldn’t remember, oh the shame! I guessed they were alcohol related and he gave me a suspicious look.

We met many new friends and took dodgy photos then woke up had some good bacon, bacon is always better when it is not from London and then drove the rental car home. And went to the pub and then had a little mini nap. And then Jamie woke me up unexpectedly and annoyed me until I got out of bed and then I was grumpy. But then watched the genius that is Casino (it’s a movie fyi) and felt better. heads up to Scorsese, Pesci and De Niro.

And now Lucy is on her honeymoon and I miss her, more than I miss Jamie when he went to Tok-yo. I have no one to talk about Big Brother, or Dancing with the stars or hello magazine with (Hello magaine is called Ola! in Spain, not sure why but this always makes me laugh.) Any way my work place has now become a cultural wasteland; I am a lonely penguin on a seagull island.

Come back Lucy and quick.

Have to go now have got sore shoulders and neck from sitting in front of a computer all day working for the man. And seeing a nice but tentative phsyio called Steve to try to sort it out.

Ps their wedding cake was lemon and carrot delicious!

Pps two different cakes, lemon and then carrot not lemon-carrot cake I’m not sure that cake combo would work but I am willing to give it a shot if anyone will make it for me.

Ppss maybe carrot with a tiny bit of lemon but not a half-half thing.
Happy Bride and Groom
Dancing Queens, can you guess what song we are dancing too? It’s ‘9 to 5’ CLASSIC!!!

me and my new friend Steve he is from Leeds, his family doesn’t work in a pit, unlike ALL other Northerners. The guy who sat on my other side was a gardener and he just finished Jason Donovan’s garden. Whoa the people you meet.

It s me and Jamie!

It’s me and the stains!

Mr and Mrs Peasley full of joy and love. Wishing you many years of happiness.

Ch-ch-changes

After all the changes with the blog I have decided to stick with the tradiotnal white. Think it is easier to read.

Also booked our honeymoon on the weekend and we are going to Hawaii, Aloha!

Booked it before we realised it was winter in Hawaii. In retrospect it may have been a good idea to check the seasons before we spent stupid amounts of money on the airfares. We are staying here http://www.marjorieskauaiinn.com/ don’t be put off by the website it looks nice and you get a fruit basket on arrival. There better be a pineapple in that fruit basket. And a knife to cut it with. And instructions on how to cut it, I am not good with knifes and hard fruit and vegetables. Me and pumpkins also don’t see eye to eye.

Still sick

I am at home and still sick, sicker than I was yesterday, how is this possible? I thought if you rested you were meant to get better. Today I am worse. And the men are here fixing the wall so I am in the bedroom about to watch a DVD but first I am thinking of happier times like last Saturday night, when I wasn’t sick It was only 3 days ago, how quickly times changes.

Anyway we went out for delicious Chinese with Odette who is in town and then we went up the road to the pub where it seems every other kiwi from London was and there were a few Aussies thrown in just to annoy us.

Jamie and his two beatches after delicious entrees.

Odette and me in the Chinese restaurant where they undercharged us and I said we should leave the cash and run but Jamie dawdled and they realised their mistake and we had to pay the entire bill. Damn Jamie, he can run fast enough when he tries to get away from me.

Mieke and me under the stars.

The gangs all here.

See if you can spot the impostor at the back. We do not know him! I do this all the time to other people’s photos stick my unfamialr head in. Once I did it in Berlin and almost got beaten up by some sorority girls. And now someone has done it to me, you can’t imagine how excited I am. I am over the moon this is one of my favourite all-time pictures. Ever. I might get it framed.

Cluck, cluck, cluck

The other week I went to my friends Lucy’s hen night. It was everything you can imagine a hen night can be. Although there was no stripper but here they go all the way so best for my nerves that there wasn’t one .
The best way to experience the vibe is to view the photos below. Men you may want to cover your eyes.
Lucy and her friend nicked named Colin the Cock. Yes it was a giant penis, and it was inflatable and it never left her side for 9 hours.

The Hens in the london rain

Me and the Ultimate Hen!

This is Lucy's favouite picture of hereself, I think it is because of the classy way the fag is dangling out of her mouth.

A more excited Hen you did never see!

Illness takes hold

I am sick. I am at home. I can’t speak my throat is too sore. I have to watch crap tv and feel sorry for myself.

I am also having flashes of a fever which is making me sweaty and stinky. I do not like it.

The only redeeming feature of this day is that a bathroom catalogue has arrived and I can start choosing a bath and a toilet for the new flat. Hidden toilet cistern or not? I think I am too sick to make any big decisions, best to sleep on it.

xxxxx

ps, now I am sneezing, proper snotty sneezes, when will it end?
